A visit to Mimi's

We were so fortunate to get to spend a week at Mimi's house this summer.  After our Galveston vacation Chris dropped the girls and I off in Kerrville for a week at Mimi's house while he returned home to work.  Our days were spent relaxing on the porch swings, enjoying good meals, staying up late watching movies, and having no set schedule.  Piper got her first manicure and loved it!!!  She felt like such a big girl!!!  At the end of the week Chris returned to pick us up.  Thank you Mimi for letting us come :)

Galveston Vacation!

Our family vacation this summer was to Galveston.  Our good friends the Downings invited us to come over 4th of July weekend so we did and we had a blast.  Our kids are the same ages and it was really easy to plan our days and have a lot of fun and suprisingly relax a little too.  We stopped in College Station for the 4th and loved staying at the La Salle hotel.  Then we spent 3 days in Galveston.  We stayed in a house pretty far down the beach but it was a beautiful community with an amazing deck and views of the ocean.  That was definitely the best part of the house!  Here's a lot of pics and they're not all in order :)

Piper at 3 1/2

Piper is a sassy and sweet 3 1/2 year old.  She tells people she's 3 but that I say she's 3 1/2, I guess she doesn't understand the 1/2 part yet.  She is really smart and creative, kind to her sister (mostly), but it's hard to be obedient to mommy.  I'm not sure why she tests me so much, but of course she's an angel with anyone else.  Oh my!  A couple of our favorite things she says "yogret", "vamilla", "fruit nacks", and "Cinderella married dress" instead of wedding dress.

She got a back-to-school haircut that was very disappointing, I miss the long curls in this picture with the blonde highlights, and no more pony tails until it grows out.  Unfortunately I foresee many bad hair cuts in our future because she has beautiful but difficult to work with curly hair.

I love the joy on her face here.

So sassy!
