Welcome to the World - Brady Christopher Johnson

What an exciting week it has been for our family!  Since I was 39 weeks pregnant on Monday and the baby was large and hadn't come on its own yet we induced on Tuesday March 26 and surprise of all surprises we had a baby boy at 1:29 pm.

Brady Christopher measured 9 lbs and was 20 1/4 inches long.  He had a big head and shoulders and some fat rolls.  He was very content inside my nice warm womb, but we were so glad to meet him.  He doesn't seem to big and chunky, but he is a solid rock when you hold him.

Later that afternoon Grandma, Uncle Alwyne, Uncle Marqus, Miss Sherry, and big sisters Piper and Campbell came up to the hospital to meet Brady.

It took the girls awhile to get over the shock and newness of the hospital, but they are so sweet with Brady and so into him now.  They like to give him kisses, rock the swing, find his passy (which he's not too interested in yet), give him his teddy bear, and let him hold their fingers.  It's really cute how they check on him.

Piper's first time holding her little brother.  (and she's not as upset about a little brother as we thought she's be, she really wanted another sister, but we can tell that she's going to mother him)
Campbell's first time holdind Brady, she likes him - I promise - she just doesn't slow down much, she's such an active almost 2 year old.
Brady in the McCarter family going home from the hospital outfit, it fit him better than it did Piper and he was a whole pound bigger than her.

Spring Break

We had a wonderful spring break just hangin out at the house and having Bash come visit.  When we picked him up from the airport Saturday we went straight to the new Perot museum with Tiggeman and his girls.  We had a great time and would love to go back without kids because there was so much to see and do, but we were distracted watching our little ones.

Mommy got in some great snuggle time with her girls before baby comes.  We were hopeful that baby would make an appearance over spring break, but baby is still warm and cozy inside the womb.

The girls enjoyed some fun meals at their little table and they played together so well all week long.
Bash may not have fully hit the teenager stage, but his appetite is definitely there.  He ate so much food while he was here!  He also got to go to basketball camp for two mornings and had a great time.
We celebrated his 13th birthday at Benihana's one night.  He sure is a fun kid and is growing up way too quickly.

february celebrations

We had a great time making Valentine's cupcakes - thanks Grammy!

 They tasted so yummy!

Valentine's kisses the morning of Valentine's Day after opening their presents from their Daddy

My school had a friendship dance and the girls got to dance with Tilly and Ellie, and their daddy

They also had a special daddy daughter date for breakfast while I was so kindly showered with diapers for the new baby.

Our family has 2 birthdays in February - and they were milestone birthdays this year.  Bash turned 13!!!  We have a teenager, whoa!  We're looking forward to celebrating with him while he's here for spring break.  And Chris turned 40, whoa - such an old geeser :).  We celebrated with an evening at The Glass Cactus with many special friends.

For Chris' actual birthday dinner we went to Sweet Tomatoes, Isn't this such a cute pic of these two? Love them!

We also had the Downings over for dinner and these two princesses (who changed clothes at least 10 times that night) enjoyed a sing-a-long with Mr. Ted :)
